Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, reportedly left their lives in California behind to move back to the UK. According to a new report, this chilly exit from California has revealed the hard truth about the lives of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in Montecito. Back in 2020, the Sussex couple stepped down as working royals and left Britain to settle down in the UK.
They had been living in their Montecito mansion worth multiple millions of dollars, with their two kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, since then. Thus, this new UK move has raised eyebrows among royal watchers.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly left Montecito quietly
As reported by Page Six, a neighbor claimed that the Sussex couple left “with a whimper, not a bang.” Per the news publication, the neighbor told the Daily Mail, “There were no moving trucks, no parties, nothing at all.” The insider also added, “One day they were here and the next they were back in England.”
Furthermore, the news outlet reported that Robert Eringer, an author and another Montecito resident, told the Daily Mail that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle never found themselves integrated into the affluent neighborhood.
The author said to the publication, “I’m out and about in Montecito a lot and never saw them.” The author then claimed, “I doubt anyone would have noticed they’d left if it hadn’t been reported in the news.”
Per Page Six, Susan, another Montecito neighbor, recalled the “cold response” she received from the Sussexes. The incident happened when she tried to give them a welcome gift in 2020.
According to the neighbor, she left “a bottle of wine at their gate.” However, she got the “unopened” bottle returned to her the next day. “I’m not sure they ever wanted to hang out with anyone who wasn’t a billionaire or famous or both,” the insider added.
