Meghan Markle’s comment on her acting comeback resurfaced after her return to the UK. According to a report, the Duchess of Sussex and her husband, Prince Harry, have been discussing her acting opportunities. She had left the entertainment world ahead of her wedding to the Duke in 2018. However, the “Suits” alum reportedly changed her mind after stepping down as working royals in 2020.
Meghan Markle’s past acting comments resurface as comeback rumors intensify
Meghan Markle’s past comment about acting resurfaced amid rumors of her comeback. A PEOPLE report suggested that the mother of two has been considering a return to television drama. Ahead of her marriage to Prince Harry, she bid farewell to her acting career. At the time, she reportedly vowed not to make a comeback.
However, things changed after Markle and Harry left their senior royal status in the UK. They moved to California and rebuilt their lifestyle with their two kids in Montecito. She still didn’t seem to be interested in giving acting a second chance. During her 2022 interview with Variety, she said, “I guess never say never, but my intention is to absolutely not.”
Meanwhile, this comment has resurfaced after Markle was rumored to be part of Guy Ritchie’s Netflix drama, “The Gentlemen.” The popular show is set to return with a new season, and speculation is rife that the Duchess might join the cast. She has even moved to the UK, which could make it easier for her to be on the set of the British TV series.
Moreover, her involvement in the project has not yet been confirmed. Earlier, a report claimed Markle might worry about being overshadowed by the famous British host, Maya Jama. The latter has been cast for the series and will appear in season 2.
“Maya arriving in the show and generating excitement around her own transition into acting inevitably risks taking attention that might otherwise have surrounded Meghan’s comeback, and the Duchess now inevitably fears Maya’s role could overshadow hers,” a source told RadarOnline.
