Prince Harry has been branded “dangerous” to the royal family following his recent return to the UK. For those unfamiliar, the Sussexes sat down with Oprah Winfrey for a bombshell interview in March 2021, a year after relocating to the U.S., where Harry and Meghan made several shocking claims about the royal family.
However, a royal expert now believes the Duke of Sussex still holds the same mindset and has returned to Britain not to mend his strained relationships with his estranged family members.
Expert claims if Prince Harry is still in same mindset as 2021 then it’s ‘dangerous’
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams reportedly believes Prince Harry still holds the same mindset he had in 2021 following his recent return to the UK. Speaking to the Daily Express, Fitzwilliams said: “If he still feels as aggrieved as it is now reported, he is dangerous to the Royal Family as tens of millions saw Oprah and Spare had huge sales and the Sussexes are now, suddenly, in situation.”
The royal commentator explained that the royal family is unlikely to offer the public apology that Harry reportedly wants. Fitzwilliams said: “He said on the BBC last year that he wanted reconciliation. For him, reconciliation requires accountability, but the Royal Family will never publicly apologise.”
During their interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021, the Sussexes opened up about their experiences within the royal family. Meghan Markle alleged that she had been treated unfairly and claimed that certain members made racist comments about her then-unborn child.
However, during a 2025 interview with the BBC, the Duke of Sussex appeared to extend an olive branch to his family. Harry acknowledged the damage caused by his memoir and other revelations, while expressing his desire to rebuild the relationship.
He had said: “Of course, some members of my family will never forgive me for writing a book. Of course they will never forgive me for lots of things. But you know, there is, I would love reconciliation with my family.”
According to PEOPLE, Harry and Meghan flew privately from California to Birmingham on August 26. The Sussexes reportedly plan to remain in the UK for an extended period and are expected to reside in the Cotswolds. The couple also plans to retain their homes in Montecito and Portugal.
As per the outlet, King Charles was “made aware” of Harry and Meghan’s plans on August 16. The monarch has reportedly welcomed the possibility of meeting the Sussexes privately as they begin their extended stay in Britain.
