Cher opposes MarieAngela King’s guardianship bid involving Elijah Blue Allman
According to TMZ’s coverage, the American singer and actress filed a court petition opposing her son Elijah’s estranged wife, MarieAngela King. Cher objected to King’s request for the authority to become Elijah’s guardian and make decisions on his behalf.
The 80-year-old singer said she is not the only one opposing the request, claiming that Elijah’s entire family and the hospital where he currently receives treatment also want to prevent King from gaining that authority.
Cher also dismissed MarieAngela King’s claims that she is concerned about Elijah Blue. The singer alleged that King is acting in her own interests and seeking fame and personal benefit rather than focusing on her husband’s well-being.
According to the filing, Cher accused the 39-year-old of “inserting herself back into the picture on a quest for money and/or a bit of fame.”
The Goddess of Pop also said that her son, Elijah Blue, had already denied MarieAngela permission to visit him three times while he stayed at New Hampshire State Hospital.
According to MarieAngela King’s claims, as stated in the documents, Cher is interfering in their relationship and preventing her from helping Elijah. The Mumbai-born singer also said that Elijah Blue has had a strained relationship with his mother for some time, which is why she believes authorities should not give Cher permission to oversee his care.
