According to RadarOnline, Chaz Bono has made Cher’s well-being his top priority while Elijah Blue Allman remains in a New Hampshire psychiatric facility following multiple arrests earlier this year.
“Of course, Chaz is upset about the way Elijah’s life has turned out, but protecting Cher is the first priority,” an insider claimed. The source added, “This whole situation with Elijah is tearing Cher apart. No matter what she does to try and help him, he refuses. Even worse, he treats her like the enemy.”
The insider also claimed the family worries about Elijah’s future after his release. “Nobody knows what his frame of mind will be when he eventually gets out of the facility,” the source said. They added he would likely need “a long period of readjustment before he’s thinking clearly again.”
Elijah, whose father was Gregg Allman, faces charges including simple assault, criminal trespassing, criminal threatening, and disorderly conduct. Authorities paused his legal proceedings while he continues receiving psychiatric treatment.
The report also revisited Cher’s unsuccessful attempt to secure an emergency conservatorship. Court filings reportedly described Elijah as “gravely disabled” and struggling with substance abuse and mental health challenges. A judge denied the request without prejudice, allowing Cher to refile later.
“Cher only tried to get a conservatorship because she believes Elijah will kill himself with drugs if she doesn’t step in,” another source alleged. The insider added, “But he doesn’t see it that way. He’s vowed to tear her to shreds.”
