A friend of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has shared an insight into the couple’s hopes for their children’s schooling as they begin a new life in the UK.
Per the Daily Express, the Sussexes are reportedly feeling emotional ahead of their kids’ first days at their new British school. According to a source, Prince Harry has a single wish for Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet as they begin life in the UK. For their new school, the Duke reportedly wants just one thing: a “nurturing atmosphere” and a strong sense of community.
Speaking to the Daily Mail‘s Alison Boshoff, a friend of the couple revealed their priorities. The insider disclosed, “It’s not academia. That is very low on the list. A nurturing atmosphere is very high on the list. Probably the highest priority is the outdoorsy and sporting ethos. They want to put them in a secure countryside microcosm, so that they will have as normal a childhood as they possibly can.”
They further noted, “Harry, I think, is thinking back to his time at Ludgrove (prep school). That was two and a half miles down a dirt track with fields on either side. There was a small police box on the track and a rather vanilla bodyguard who would peer out of a window while Harry played in the yard.”
The confidant explained that fellow pupils treated the Duke and his brother Prince William like any other student. They added that his Ludgrove years were possibly the happiest of his life and a comfort during difficult times. That same sense of community is what Prince Harry and Meghan Markle now want for their children.
