Meghan Markle Causing Designers to Fume Because of This — Source

Meghan Markle’s fashion influence is undeniable, but according to new insider chatter, not everything behind her glamorous wardrobe is running smoothly. Several fashion industry sources claim that the Duchess of Sussex has developed a reputation for holding onto loaned dresses far longer than most top-tier celebrities. This habit, they suggest, is quietly frustrating designers and showrooms who rely on quick turnover.

According to fashion insiders speaking to columnist Rob Shuter, Meghan Markle’s reputation for impeccable style comes with a lesser-known complication. She allegedly returns loaned dresses much later than the industry standard. Though one top stylist stressed that Markle “isn’t stealing” anything, the source claimed her return period is noticeably slower than what designers typically expect from high-profile clients.

Most couture and showroom pieces circulate rapidly among celebrities, stylists, magazines, and red-carpet events. But insiders allege that items sent to Meghan’s Montecito home often come back “a week or two late,” long enough, they say, to disrupt tight fashion schedules. “These items are supposed to rotate constantly,” one source explained. “When Meghan holds onto them, everything gets backed up.”

The issue has reportedly grown so persistent that some designers now add what they call “Meghan buffer time” into their schedules. They build extra days into the loan period in anticipation of slower returns. Meanwhile, others, as per the insider, have become more selective about what they lend her or have implemented stricter check-ins.

Still, several sources emphasized that personal feelings toward Markle remain positive. “She’s lovely and gracious,” a PR insider noted. “But she definitely operates on Meghan Time. The fashion world does not.”

The chatter about her wardrobe habits arrives as the duchess faces additional scrutiny surrounding the early performance of her As Ever holiday collection. While Meghan unveiled the festive line with polished branding and a cozy Christmas-themed video, several insiders claim the launch hasn’t produced the strong momentum she was aiming for.
