Queen Camilla Wears Princess Eugenie’s Wedding Tiara at Windsor Castle Reception

Sharing is caring when it comes to the Royal Family’s wardrobes, it seems. Last night, Queen Camilla attended a royal event wearing the same tiara Princess Eugenie wore on her wedding day.

Queen Camilla gave Princess Eugenie’s 2018 wedding tiara another big moment

At a Windsor Castle reception on November 18th, Camilla stepped out wearing the Greville Emerald Kokoshnik Tiara. The platinum-set tiara features a large cabochon emerald at its center, surrounded by rose-cut diamonds and smaller emeralds on either side. Royal fans instantly recognised the item, as it was proudly worn by Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s youngest daughter when she wed Jack Brooksbank in October 2018.

The accessory was made by luxury jewelry designer Boucheron in 1919 in the fashionable “kokoshnik” style, popularized in the Russian Imperial Court. It was originally owned by Dame Margaret Greville, a famous socialite. Upon her death, Margaret left her jewels to the Queen Mother. Although the Queen Mother was never photographed wearing the tiara, she is believed to have worn it on several occasions.

Following the death of the Queen Mother, the tiara was passed on to the late Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty then loaned it to Princess Eugenie for her wedding day in 2018. Queen Camilla’s decision to wear the familiar tiara marks the first time it has been seen in public since then.

Queen Camilla paired the Greville Emerald Kokoshnik Tiara with a Fiona Clare cream embroidered dress. She finished the look with a few more accessories, including a diamond serpent necklace and diamond Van Cleef and Arpels earrings. Queen Camilla was joined at the Windsor Castle event by her husband, King Charles, as well as Prince William.
