The long-running tension between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle has reportedly resurfaced just as the holiday season approaches. According to insiders, Markle’s new Christmas-themed Netflix special does not bother the Princess of Wales, and she actually finds the timing amusing. The two will reportedly celebrate the festive season separately. However, behind the scenes, the quiet rivalry between them, as sources say, remains “sharp.”
Kate Middleton knows she will ‘outshine’ Meghan Markle this holiday season, claims source
According to Radar Online’s exclusive report, Meghan Markle’s “With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration” will premiere on December 3, only two days before Kate Middleton hosts her “Together at Christmas” carol service at Westminster Abbey on December 5. The festive show, supported by The Royal Foundation, has become one of the most anticipated royal broadcasts each year.
A source claimed, “Kate saw the announcement and just laughed. She thinks Meghan is being petty again, but she isn’t losing sleep over it.” The insider added, “She believes her carol service will outshine and crush anything Meghan puts out.”
Another royal source claimed that Markle “is constantly trying to match or mirror what Kate does,” adding, “Kate’s attitude is that she doesn’t need to compete – she knows her event will dominate the season and she knows she is seen as far classier than Meghan.”
While Middleton’s event has a strong focus on community, charity, and royal tradition, Markle’s Netflix special will reportedly take a more lifestyle-focused approach. According to the report, it shows Markle hosting from her home in Montecito. She wears a green dress as she decorates for the holidays while sharing craft and cooking ideas with viewers.
Despite some claiming the two women are competing, sources close to the palace claimed that the princess is taking things lightly. As such, a staff member told the outlet, “The timing of Meghan’s project felt pointed – but Kate thinks the whole thing is just a bit silly.”
As of now, allegedly, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle will celebrate Christmas their own way — Middleton at Westminster Abbey with tradition and service, and Markle with family and cameras in California.
