Scott Jennings Comments on Sydney Sweeney on CNN

Scott Jennings recently picked Sydney Sweeney as his emergency spokesperson during a hypothetical scenario on CNN’s NewsNight. The question referenced a recent Wicked: For Good red carpet moment where Ariana Grande spoke on behalf of Cynthia Erivo. Jennings answered who he would choose in a similar situation, sparking mixed fan reactions.

Scott Jennings has something to say about Sydney Sweeney

During the conclusion of CNN’s NewsNight, host Abby Phillip dropped an interesting hypothetical question for the panelists to answer. He referred to the recent Wicked: For Good red carpet moment, where Erivo lost her voice and Grande stepped in to speak on her behalf. He asked the panelists which individual they would choose to speak on their behalf in such an emergency.

While many panelists answered, Jennings quickly jumped in to drop his answer on this hypothetical scenario, picking Sweeney as his emergency voice. He said, “The most recent person to conduct an interview in our pop culture to exhibit message discipline and a willingness to manhandle some ridiculous woke reporter was Sydney Sweeney.”

He further added, “And so I’m going to purposely lose my voice and see if I can get Sydney to take care of all my public interviews and speaking engagements. I think this would be a brilliant partnership. And so, if you’d like to do it, the job is yours. I’ve been doing a lot of book sales this week. I could use an extra pair of hands. And so if Sydney wants to come on board, let’s do it right now.”

His answer, however, received some mixed reactions from the people on the internet. A fan wrote, “The creepiness is just oozing off this freak.” Another one mentioned, “Self-described alpha-male macho-macho man—irksome Scott Jennings—wants to hang out with a hot, famous, gorgeous blonde who’s 20 years younger than him. For some reason?” Some also described his remark as “cringe.” Criticizing CNN, one wrote, “The fact that CNN had that graphic ready is gross.”

Some users found his answers to be interesting. A fan wrote, “When politics meets Hollywood, things get interesting.” Another one mentioned, “Finally, someone willing to handle the woke reporters without breaking a sweat.” Other reactions also included “Sydney Sweeney taking over interviews? Now THAT’s next-level strategy,” and “This is either genius or peak chaos. Can’t tell which yet.”
