Kanye West, who was recently spotted in Tokyo, Japan, spoke to Mystery Fashionist’s Ajay Porter. Porter first asked West where he was from, to which he replied, “I’m Ye, I’m from Chi,” referencing his hometown of Chicago.

Porter then highlighted West’s outfit, asking him to rate it on a scale of 1-10 and describe what he was wearing. “It’s always a 10 out of 10,” West stated. He pointed to his brown Yeezy 950 boots before talking about his remaining attire, which he said was designed by Gosha Rubchinskiy. West’s Gocha outfit consisted of a black zipper hoodie with a white interior, a light blue denim jacket layered over a black T-shirt that was partly visible, and light blue denim jeans.

Porter then asked West, “What’s the fashion trend you regret participating in?” West shook his head for a few seconds before replying, “Life.”

Ye’s response and mannerisms in the interview provoked a variety of reactions from fans, who commented on his sadness. “He looks so sad :(” one user wrote.

“Life… He ain’t lying lol,” one user commented. “Damn he disassociated hard,” another remarked.

Meanwhile, some fans highlighted West’s surprisingly calm attitude throughout the interview, which contrasted with his often unpredictable and intense persona. Some even stressed that he wasn’t the West they knew. “The nicest Ye you’ll ever find,” one fan wrote. “That is not Kanye,” another added.

Notably, West has faced numerous difficulties in his personal and professional life in recent years. These include his troubled co-parenting arrangement with Kim Kardashian and the loss of his partnerships with Adidas, Balenciaga, and Gap, the latter of which was the result of his antisemitic posts on social media in 2022. A few weeks prior to his recent interview, West reportedly met with Rabbi Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto to apologize for his antisemitic remarks, which he attributed to various struggles in his life, including bipolar disorder.
