Logan Paul leaves mid-podcast over ‘Japanese forest’ joke

During the November 21 episode of his Impaulsive podcast, Paul’s co-host Mike Majlak and guest star Tana Mongeau partnered up to tease the Prime co-founder about his controversial visit to the “suicide forest” at the base of Mount Fuji. This caused Paul to leave the discussion, leaving Majlak and Mongeau behind, who continued laughing at Paul’s reaction.

In the episode of the podcast, Logan Paul mentioned that one of the world’s strongest men had recently lost a tug-of-war bout against a group of kids. As soon as Paul had finished telling his story, Majlak began mouthing the word “rope,” gesturing to Mongeau to make a comment.

Instead, she replied, “Mike is being really silly right now. ‘Rope’ is a good time for me to make my classic suicide forest joke on Impaulsive, and he [Majlak] tried to lay me up. That wasn’t even me, that was your friend right there.”

Having been called out, Majlak clarified, “Dude, it was all for the clip,” referring to the last time Mongeau had engaged in a similar banter, which ended up generating a lot of views.

While Mongeau initially hesitated, she ultimately made her joke about Logan Paul visiting the Japanese forest, stating, “I will say today I went in today and was like ‘Do I throw it in or is it just, no pun intended, low hanging fruit.'”

The comments about the Japanese forest were in reference to Paul’s 2017 vlog, which saw him and his friends travel to Japan’s Aokigahara forest. There, Paul came across the body of a deceased individual and proceeded to film with the body before uploading the footage on YouTube. This resulted in the renowned influencer facing severe backlash. Paul has since deleted the video and apologized for his actions.
