“The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Dolores Catania sparked online discussions about its appropriateness. Photos made Catania’s pale blue dress appear white, sparking speculation on social media
What did Dolores Catania wear to her son, Frankie Jr.’s wedding
Even as her son Frankie Jr. got married, Catania’s gown quickly became a topic of discussion online. Frankie Jr. and Nicole Perricho got married on August 1 in Portugal’s wine country. Speaking to People, the couple said they wanted their wedding to feel “relaxed, elegant, and effortlessly romantic.”
Catania also posted an Instagram Story in which she showed off her ruffled pale blue gown and dramatically fanned herself. Although the gown was pale blue, many social media users said it appeared white in photos.
The photos prompted a Reddit thread discussion where several users questioned whether the color was appropriate for the mother of the groom. The thread is titled, “Dolores wore white to her son’s wedding.” One user wrote, “Oh she’s a boy mom at its core. Not only wearing white but standing right between the two of them.”Another described Catania’s choice as “so odd.”
A third user wrote, “Her dress literally outshines the bride lol the giant flower is horrible.” Yet another directly addressed the actress, saying, “sorry Delores…not cool…no need for the White…not your day…”
The bride, Nicole Perricho, wore a custom gown by White House Bride. Frank Jr. chose a light tan suit by Michael Andrews Bespoke NYC.
Catania, 55, got engaged to Paul “Paulie” Connell in 2025. For the occasion, Catania accepted a 15-carat ring from her beau. The proposal took place in the same Apple Store location in New Jersey where the couple had first met five years prior.
Catania joined Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New Jersey as a full-time cast member in Season 7 and has remained a fixture on the series ever since.
