A clip of Donald Trump went viral on X (formerly Twitter) recently, in which he could be seen in an attire different from the signature suits he usually wears.
In a video shared by Aaron Rupar, Trump can be seen wearing a red scarf underneath a long black coat. As soon as the clip went viral on social media, users started to compare this winter look to what the New York City Mayor-Elect wears. Some alleged that Trump is trying to copy Zohran Mamdani after he met with him at the White House.
Commenting on the look, a user wrote, “It’s called ‘the Mamdani.’ Trump dressed up for his crush. He’s all excited again.” Another user wrote, “Donald Trump has fallen in love, again. Looks like the old man took some fashion tips from Mamdani, too.” A third user went on to comment, “He meets with Mamdani one time and immediately tries to step his swag up.”
Another X user speculated that one meeting with Mamdani had made Trump a fan of overcoats and wrote, “bro met mamdani and decided that overcoats and fall palette sweaters were The Move going forward.” Another user posted, “Trump trying to destiny swag with Mamdani, I can’t make this s**t up.”
