Even though Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s titles were recently revoked, King Charles has reportedly been eager to support the former Duke of York’s daughters. For now, the King is reportedly “testing the waters” with Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. He wants to observe how well his nieces perform and how they are received by the public.
King Charles considering Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie for royal duties, per source
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was recently stripped of his Prince title. He also had to move out of his royal residence at Royal Lodge. However, his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, have retained their royal titles.
King Charles wants his nieces to have a fresh start and to take on occasional royal duties. A royal source told Vanity Fair, “It was something that was being considered before recent events, and despite what has happened with Andrew, it’s not off the table.”
The source continued despite the public perception of Andrew, the “girls are kind, hardworking and want to help if they can.”
Eugenie is now working as a mentor with the King’s Foundation. She reportedly feels delighted to be working with the foundation. A source said, “She was so excited to be there and seemed very proud to have been asked.”
The princess shared her experience working with the foundation. She said, “My career has been shaped by a passion for the arts, so it’s a pleasure to be working with The King’s Foundation to support this inspirational group of artists and creatives.”
Beatrice, on the other hand, is involved in charity and serves as the Deputy Patron of The Outward Bound Trust.
As per a royal source, King Charles is “testing the water” right now to observe how the public will respond to his nieces amid his brother’s controversy.
Even the Princesses know that they have to do their best and prove themselves. They “recognize there is a responsibility to support their uncle and they want to support him,” said a source with close ties to the princesses.
