Ariana Grande’s Dress Is an Iconic Piece From Fashion History

Ariana Grande has officially entered her fashion-historian era. In between promotions for her newly released movie “Wicked: For Good,” the singer-actress delivered a haute couture moment so breathtaking that even the archives themselves seemed to shimmer. Grande stepped out in an archival Givenchy dress, an ultra-rare piece that instantly became one of her most memorable looks to date.

Ariana Grande wows in final look from Hubert Givenchy’s last haute couture collection

Ariana Grande’s fashion streak just reached its peak with a Givenchy haute couture dress straight from the archives. In a new Instagram Reel shared by stylist Law Roach, the singer can be seen wearing the “final look” from Hubert de Givenchy’s Fall/Winter 1995 haute couture collection.

Notably, the piece marks the end of the legendary designer’s era at his own fashion house. Roach revealed that the look required special permission from Givenchy’s archives. He publicly thanked the team, including designer Sarah Burton, for facilitating the rare pull.

Ariana Grande’s Givenchy dress itself is a confection of craftsmanship. It is a pale pink, floor-sweeping piece covered in raised rosette-like appliqués that catch the light with a soft, liquid sheen. The long sleeves and structured bodice echo the codes of 1990s couture, when silhouettes were romantic, sculptural, and meticulously hand-finished.

In the original 1995 runway clips shared by Roach, the dress appeared as a finale for the show, worn with an almost regal gravity. Grande’s version takes that energy and softens it into something more whimsical and Glinda-coded.

Grande styled the archival look with fairytale precision. Her warm brunette hair was pulled back into a sleek updo dotted with pastel floral pins. The styling amplifies the dress’s romantic volume without overwhelming it.

Not to mention, her makeup stays true to her signature palette. It includes soft pink tones, a glossy mauve lip, gentle contouring, and a subtle winged shadow that enhances the airy, almost dreamlike quality of the overall look.

This look is just one standout in what has quickly become a museum-worthy press tour. Earlier this month, Grande attended the Paris premiere in a pale blue and pink vintage couture gown from Givenchy’s Spring 1998 collection, designed by Alexander McQueen. On another occasion, the 32-year-old songwriter has also worn a custom hot-pink Givenchy dress inspired by Audrey Hepburn’s silhouettes.

In this latest Givenchy masterpiece, Grande proves once again that no one merges pop stardom, character inspiration, and high fashion quite like her.
