Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster arrived at the 2025 Gotham Awards, coordinating looks and composure. The longtime performers, now a couple, stepped onto the carpet at Cipriani Wall Street on December 1 in matching black outfits that spoke volumes about their relationship status. At the event, Jackman accepted the Musical Tribute honor for his work in “Song Sung Blue,” while Foster was by his side in support.
Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster made quite the statement at the Gotham Awards 2025
Hugh Jackman, 57, wore a sharp black suit with a tie, keeping things classic and unfussy, while Sutton Foster, 50, chose a black sequined gown that reflected the overhead lights with each movement. The pair posed and smiled together for photographers before heading inside for the ceremony.
It has been a gradual public rollout for Jackman and Foster, who first met through Broadway circles years ago. Their connection strengthened during the 2022 revival of “The Music Man,” where they played opposite each other. After both went through separate divorces — Jackman from his wife of 27 years, Deborra-Lee Furness, and Foster with her husband of 10 years, Ted Griffin — they reconnected, and their friendship took on a different shape.
The couple was first photographed holding hands in Santa Monica in January. By October, they made their red carpet debut together at the Los Angeles premiere of “Song Sung Blue.” Not long after, Jackman made their relationship Instagram official by posting a clip of Foster performing at Café Carlyle and calling it “truly magical.”
A source close to the couple told PEOPLE in October that they are “in love and were genuinely excited to walk the carpet together,” adding that “the drama is behind them now” and that both “are feeling giddy and happy.”
At the Gotham event, Hugh Jackman joined honorees like Kate Hudson, Julia Roberts, and Guillermo del Toro, and still, the night belonged to him and Sutton Foster. The pair’s simple show of unity certainly did not go unnoticed.
