Margot Robbie touches upon filming ‘Wuthering Heights’ 3 months after giving birth
Welcoming a baby and jumping straight to work within a few weeks is one of the most life-changing transitions for a woman. And this is exactly what Margot Robbie struggled with while filming “Wuthering Heights” only three months postpartum. She recently shared her experience in an interview with British Vogue.
During the conversation, the actress shed light on the challenges she faced while filming her upcoming film after welcoming her first child with husband Tom Ackerley on October 17, 2024. “I was three months postpartum when we started shooting. So I was in a very different headspace,” she confessed to the outlet.
Moreover, the new mom “didn’t do” her “usual routine,” hence, “it was more haphazard” for her. Revealing more about her experience, the “Barbie” star further added that she had doubts about her performance, which she even shared with writer-director Emerald Fennell.
“And I remember saying to Emerald, ‘What if I’m not prepared enough?’ She kept saying, ‘I don’t want you to prepare. I just need you to be in the moment.’” And it seems like this advice helped Robbie ease her anxiety. “Which was a lovely way of relieving my anxiety. It was about being in my body as opposed to my head,” she admitted.
This is not the first time the 35-year-old has opened up about motherhood. While promoting “A Big Bold Beautiful Journey,” she told Entertainment Tonight that being a parent is “the best” feeling.
Robbie’s upcoming movie is the adaptation of Emily Brontë’s 1847 novel “Wuthering Heights.” It also stars Hong Chau, Alison Oliver, Jacob Elordi, Shazad Latif, Ewan Mitchell, and Martin Clunes. The film is set to be released on February 13, 2026.
