Ex-Prince Andrew Could ‘Trade Royal Family Secrets for Cash’ — Expert

A new round of royal commentary is raising questions about what could happen if ex-Prince Andrew is left without meaningful financial support from the royal family. The speculation comes as King Charles continues to distance his brother from official duties. Experts now believe Andrew’s shrinking income could push him toward more drastic ways of supporting himself.

Royal commentators warn that Andrew’s continued loss of titles and roles could pose challenges for the monarchy. His most recent setback arrived this week when he was stripped of his final honorary military position, Vice Admiral. Andrew is said to have greatly valued the role. Observers noted he appeared isolated during a recent outing when he was photographed riding alone on his Windsor estate. Meanwhile, the rest of the family had gathered for a pre-holiday lunch at Buckingham Palace.

Speaking on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show, Samara Gill suggested that if Andrew faces a financial shortfall, he may become vulnerable to opportunities that could put the royal family in an uncomfortable position. Gill claimed he could be tempted to make money by sharing private information.

Cameron Walker, a royal correspondent for GB News, argued that while Andrew has stepped back from public life and lost the privileges tied to his former titles, he remains connected to the monarchy as the King’s brother. Walker said that completely cutting him off financially carries risks. Without additional support, Walker suggested Andrew might seek alternative revenue streams that could have implications for the royal family.

Walker questioned whether Andrew might pursue a tell-all project similar to Prince Harry’s bestselling memoir “Spare.” He emphasized the issue isn’t Andrew’s intent, but the vulnerability that comes with having few options.

Royal expert Ingrid Seward shared that losing the Vice Admiral rank may be especially painful for Andrew, calling it a “huge blow.” She said he has long viewed himself as an “Armed Forces man” and may feel the removal is deeply personal. Seward also suggested that the cumulative losses — titles, roles, public presence — may leave him feeling increasingly bitter.
