It’s been a tough year for Meghan King. And she’s not afraid to admit it. The Real Housewives of Orange County alum shared a cryptic message on her social media about her challenging year after losing custody of her kids to her ex-husband Jim Edmonds.
Meghan King expands on “tough year” as she navigates the holidays without her kids
Meghan shared a popular meme on her Instagram stories last week. The meme said, “It was a tough year, but at least I didn’t buy a Labubu.”
She additionally captioned the post “Butttttt a bunch of ‘super-rare’ stuff happened (just saying).” Meghan added the shrug emoji almost as if she is resigned to the challenges she’s facing now.
The social media post comes just weeks after Meghan and Jim reached a custody agreement for their children. Before this, things were already rough with the former couple’s split. Meghan temporarily lost custody of the kids after giving one of the twins, Hayes, unprescribed attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) medication.
An insider told Page Six that Hayes has not been diagnosed with ADHD. The outlet also shared that Jim and his current wife, Kortnie Edmonds, were contacted by Child Protective Services (CPS) and flew from Tennessee to the children in Missouri.
The former couple decided that Meghan will only visit their three children, Aspen and twins Heart and Hayes, for a “few weeks every summer.” They will live in Tennessee full-time. Meghan did see her children for the holidays.
Meghan and Jim were married in 2014 and finalized their divorce in 2021.
After the custody agreement, Meghan took to her IG to share the cryptic meme and message. She followed this with another message “thanking the universe.”
“This morning the universe reminded me that maybe I don’t need to disguise the cracks,” Meghan wrote on Friday, December 12. “Maybe instead I can fill them with color and purpose. Thank you, universe.”
