Before 2026 rolled in, another Real Housewives relationship bit the dust! Former Real Housewives of Atlanta star Brit Eady took to social media right before the end of the year to announce her split from her husband, Michael Cunningham, after five years of marriage.

This just goes to show that things can certainly turn on a dime. Brit used to post regular sweet shoutouts about her hubby. She described their relationship as a fairytale romance.. It looks like he’s no longer Prince Charming but the villain in her story.
The former RHOA cast member shared their split via a post on Instagram (as she often does when she has news). She shared the news with a photo of her and Michael. In the caption, she wrote, “I’m posting this on the last day of 365 to remove this facade of faking like this marriage is going to work.” Yikes!
“Everybody can’t come into the next chapter. I’m done hurting, and I want to be happy in my next chapter,” she continued. “Cheers to 2026 of putting my happiness first.”
And then in parentheses, she added, “And for the record, as much as I can’t stand him, we are not going to create a false narrative that I’m walking away because of any fake made-up rumors.” Brit didn’t elaborate on the rumors circulating.
In the post, she alluded to “disrespect, toxicity, and triggers” and how she tries to “always lead with love” before saying she’s going to “come out of the storm as if it wasn’t even raining.” It looks like there is much more to the story.
Fans remember Brit for her one-season stint on RHOA. Things didn’t really go well, and she famously feuded with Kenya Moore over explicit photos. Despite Kenya leaving the season early, Brit eventually announced her exit from RHOA (via IG as well) and skipped out on the reunion.
In a way, her exit from RHOA had similar tones to her separation post. She said that she “decided to walk away from something that no longer serves me because I choose peace over destroying my mental health.”
Brit isn’t the only RHOA alum separating. Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker are also getting divorced. However, their divorce seems slightly more amicable, at least for now.
