New year, new outlook on life. That’s the motto Nicole Kidman is going into 2026 with, following her surprise divorce from Keith Urban.
After nearly two decades of marriage, Nicole filed for divorce in September 2025, citing irreconcilable differences. Nicole and Keith – who share two daughters, Sunday, 17, and Faith, 15 – reportedly split due to their busy schedules, which kept them apart too often.
Nicole Kidman is “looking forward” to her New Year
Taking to her Instagram on New Year’s Eve, Nicole gave an update as she headed into 2026. “Looking forward into 2026,” she wrote on her Story along with a photo of herself and her two daughters watching fireworks over a harbour.
It’s unclear if Keith spent time with the trio over the holidays, but Nicole clearly didn’t spend it alone. On Christmas Eve, Nicole was joined by both her daughters at a party in Sydney, Australia. Then, on December 29th, Nicole celebrated Faith’s birthday with a pink cake and a sweet Instagram Story post.
Nicole, who has two adult children from her previous marriage to Tom Cruise, is the primary residential parent for Sunday and Faith. Per their custody agreement, the girls spend 306 days a year with Nicole and 59 days with Keith.
The former couple also split the holidays when it comes to custody. Nicole and Keith’s agreement states that she gets holidays such as Mother’s Day and Easter with the girls, while he has them on Father’s Day and Thanksgiving. Whether or not the pair will alternate for Christmas and New Year is unclear … and we might have to wait 12 months to find out.
Speaking about her daughters’ resilience, Nicole told Interview magazine last year: “They don’t take a lot of things personally. They shrug it off.”
