Rocky plays Gr1m, while Tommy Revenge shows up as Rugahand, Thoto becomes Babushka Boi, and the Williams twins take on Shirthead and Dummy. Adding extra star power, Winona Ryder leads the video. The project also features appearances from Danny Elfman, Thundercat, and ASAP Nast.
Ryder’s role fits perfectly with the style Rocky is crafting for Don’t Be Dumb. The album’s artwork is by Tim Burton, with music by Danny Elfman. The latter had scored plenty of Ryder classics like Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands. Dropping on January 16, Don’t Be Dumb is ASAP Rocky’s fourth studio album, coming almost eight years after Testing.
The project, originally teased as All Smiles, faced multiple delays over the years, which Rocky has blamed on leaks. “They gotta stop leaking it! These dummies got to stop leaking shit. Every time, we have to go back to the drawing board, but right now, I think it’s in a place where we tightened it up, and we really can’t make or break anything right now.” Rocky continued, “We in album mode, it’s time to start rolling out the project.
