A prominent game show host is sounding off on security and immigration in the US. Ken Jennings says that it’s been a sad few days since news of a Minneapolis mother of three was killed by an agent of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Renee Nicole Good was shot dead by an ICE agent later identified as Jonathan Ross. US President Donald Trump’s administration had called her a domestic terrorist. Her death has some calling for the cross-border immigration force to be abolished. The host of Jeopardy! believes that doing so wouldn’t go far enough.
Ken Jennings had a blunt statement to make
Forget disbanding ICE, the Jeopardy! G.O.A.T. thinks that a bigger immigration unit should be disolved. On his Bluesky account, Ken responded to the calls to get rid of ICE altogether in light of Nicole’s death. “Uh, try abolish DHS, and that joy will sustain me for a little while,” wrote Ken.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has been in operation since the early 2000s following the 9-11 attacks on the United States. In another post on social media, the former Jeopardy! contestant said that whatever 2028 Presidential candidate seeks to prosecute the old regime at every level will have his vote. The game show host who won over $2.5 million in his original run as a contestant on Jeopardy! is said to have a net worth today of around $8 million.
The incident that killed Nicole took place in an area of Minneapolis that is said to contain a large number of immigrants from Somalia. Nicole’s ex-husband says that she was dropping off her six-year-old son at school on Wednesday morning. That’s when she and her current partner reportedly came across some ICE agents. Her former husband adds that she was not an activist and had no knowledge of her past participation in protests.
The DHS has said the mother was weaponizing a vehicle in an act of domestic terrorism. JD Vance incorrectly alleges that she was a part of a broad left-wing network with the goal of attacking, assaulting, and making it impossible for ICE agents to do their jobs. In an effort to justify the shooting, he called her death a tragedy of her own making.
