Huge Reality TV Production Company in Merger Talks

Reportedly, two giant international production companies are in talks to merge into one behemoth entity. The company behind perennial fan favorite Big Brother is currently in negotiations with the company responsible for The Traitors.

Should the two production giants combine their businesses, they would form one of the world’s largest production companies. The new firm would include dozens of international subsidiaries and shows such as MasterChef, Midsomer Murders and Peaky Blinders.

According to Deadline, Big Brother producer Banijay Group (currently working on a Sherlock Holmes reality series) and RedBird IMI, owners of The Traitors company All3Media, are in talks. Although no deal is yet signed, should the two companies merge, their revenues would approach $78 billion.

Previously, Banijay and All3Media (producers of The Traitors Ireland) were linked in 2023. At that time, Banijay made an offer to acquire Warner Bros. RedBird IMI eventually acquired the company for $1.55 billion.

Apparently, talks began in late 2025 after Banijay gave up their attempt to buy ITV Studios, the production division of UK broadcaster ITV. An anonymous source reports that negotiations are currently well advanced.

Based in France, Banijay Group is made up of the Banijay Entertainment and Banijay Live businesses, as well as betting arm Betclip. In addition to a library of 207,000 hours, Banijay owns over 130 production companies. Some of their subsidiaries include Bunim/Murray, 51 Minds, Dragonfly, Shine TV, Truly Original, and Zeppotron, among others.

Headquartered in London, All3Media owns IDTV and Studio Lambert, All3Media America, Filmpool, Lion Television, Neal Street Productions, Objective Media Group, Raw, Silverback Films, South Pacific Pictures and Two Brothers Pictures.

Contacted for comment on the possible merger, Banijay and All3 declined to comment. Meanwhile, RedBird IMI hasn’t yet responded to a request for comment.
