Donald Trump addressed supporters in an email that sparked wide discussion ahead of key 2026 campaign milestones. The president’s message detailed a dramatic scene of being “alone” in the “war room” with a “dying laptop.”
Donald Trump’s email about being ‘alone’ surfaces
On January 13, 2026, President Trump sent a fundraising email titled “I’m alone and in the dark.” The message was shared by Harry Sisson and archived by the Archive of Political Emails. In the message, Trump wrote, “I’m sitting here. Alone. In the war room. Fighting for you. The rest of the staff went home hours ago. It’s just me, one dying laptop, and the 72-hour countdown clock to my first mid-month deadline of the year just RANG.” He began the message with, “Some people are saying: This is SAD!”
The email warned that failing to meet fundraising goals would allow the “radical Left” to take control of Congress. Trump wrote, “The radical Left flips the House and Senate in 2026,” adding that Democrats would “open borders forever,” confiscate guns, and brainwash children. He continued, “And worst of all, your favorite President (ME!) might just go through another FAKE impeachment!”
He urged supporters to donate $47 within 30 minutes to receive a “limited-edition 2026 Trump Calendar.” Trump wrote, “This is it. No second chances,” and claimed, “They’re already spending BILLIONS (Dirty Money, I bet) to bury US and bury YOU!”
He emphasized, “I need a small sacrifice from every red-blooded American who wants to save the country!”
The email concluded with, “We have been fighting for years… the end is near,” and warned, “The woke mind virus is infiltrating more and more Americans every day. This could be our last chance! Do it for America, show them MAGA is strong!”
On January 14, 2026, Trump told Reuters, “When you think of it, we shouldn’t even have an election,” referencing the upcoming midterms. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt responded the next day, stating Trump was “joking” and “speaking facetiously.”
The Lincoln Project reported 18 House races shifting Democratic and the Senate as competitive. “TRUMP 2028” hats are being sold in the White House gift shop.
