Joy Behar wants answers from New York City’s Mayor. In particular, she wants to know how Zohran Mamdani sees Donald Trump. The two politicians were reportedly at odds before Zohran’s historic election to NYC’s top job last year.
The pair had reportedly been texting since Zohran became the first Muslim Mayor in New York City’s history. Live on the air, the co-host of The View pressed the Mayor about where he and Donald currently stand, seeking very specific and personal information.

There was evidently no time for small talk or pleasantries when Zohran came on ABC’s syndicated talk show this week. Joy cut straight to the point, asking to see the supposed texts between Donald and the Mayor. Zohran responded, “I don’t have my phone with me.”
While he never said anything about Donald and him being friends, the Mayor did say that the two share a mutual love for New York City, where the President was born. “My intention is about being honest and direct with the President,” said Zohran. He noted that every federal policy will impact the city he currently runs. He did say that he wants New York to be affordable to all residents.
Among other things, Joy also asked if Zohran had an award for Trump. That was in part due to Donald’s bitterness about not receiving the Nobel Peace Prize. The Mayor said he didn’t have a prize for the President. Donald had been given the FIFA Peace Prize at the World Cup draw last year by FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
In November, Zohran revealed one of the weirdest things Donald showed him during his visit to the White House. Zohran defeated former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo in the November civic elections. This week was his second appearance on The View and his first since becoming Mayor.
