Grimes is opening up about her relationship with her ex, Elon Musk, and the three children they share.
The Canadian musician began dating the billionaire in 2018. Their first child, a son named X Æ A-12, was born in 2020. Due to California laws on birth registration, X’s name had to be legally changed to X Æ A-Xii. They welcomed a daughter, Exa Dark Sideræl, via a surrogate, the following year. In 2023, it was reported that they welcomed another son, named Techno Mechanicus.

Speaking on X, an app now owned by her controversial ex, Grimes wrote that she tries to “never talk abt or show my kids.”
“They deserve the right to anonymity,” she continied “but i just have to say their pure aura is unmatched.”
The singer even revealed a surprising talent of an unnamed child. “One of them even inexplicably commanded a flock of crows for while. Might be biased but this seems unusual.”
Previously, Grimes has called out Elon for bringing their kids, mostly their oldest son, to political and public events, especially following Trump’s nearly-missed assassination attempt in July 2024. She also critcized the billionaire for posting about the children online.
When asked by a user on X why she lets Elon post images of the kids on social media, Grimes responded. “I unfortunately do not control the internet and cannot wipe this from the internet,” she began. “I have tried begging the public and my kids’ dad to keep them offline, and I’ve tried legal recourse.”
“The state of my children’s lives being public is of grave concern to me and I think about how to solve this every day,” she continued. “It’s insane to me that theres no way to deal with this.”
“I would hope there was some law that would allow a parent to veto small children from living public lives, but I don’t even trust the law to help me now.”
