On paper, an advert with Matthew McConaughey and Bradley Cooper sounds like a dream. But, according to the majority of NFL fans, a new Uber Eats advert starring the two Hollywood heartthrobs is anything but.
Why is Matthew McConaughey’s Uber Eats advert making NFL fans mad?
To recap, during January 25’s AFC Championship game between the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos, Uber Eats began its rollout of a new advert. In the advert, iconic actor Matthew drives a pickup truck down the street, following Bradley, who is running alongside it. Bradley does his best to ignore Matthew, who proceeds to repeatedly shout “food” in various intonations.
The 30-second advert ended with a teaser for the date of the Super Bowl LX (February 8). And the caption on the YouTube clip suggests the same. “One word. Many deliveries. Watch Matthew drive Bradley crazy and us closer to answering the question; is football secretly selling food? Find out 02.08.26,” it said.
As for what’s being teased, we don’t know. Perhaps it’ll be a longer advert that will provide context for the contention between the pair’s characters. One thing we do know, however, is that NFL fans aren’t impressed with the advert as it is…
“This @UberEats commercial is just awful and so annoying,” said @HylianHero on X. “I’d like to congratulate @UberEats on devising the most annoying commercial I’ve ever seen in my life,” agreed @ABSoundtrack.
“McConaughey Uber Eats commercial is so irritating it makes me want to throw my TV through the wall,” wrote @PredsThreads. A fourth person, @conroyherald, felt the same: “The Matthew McConaghy ‘food’ commercial makes me literally want to shut off the TV.”
Not everyone hates the advert, however. “I love the new Uber Eats commercial with Matthew McConaughey!!” said X user @MaryBowen355195, adding: “It’s funny. Plus … he’s in it!!”
