Married to Medicine’s Dr. Heavenly Kimes Gives Huge Update on Estranged Son

Although Dr. Heavenly Kimes is a part-time cast member on Married to Medicine Season 12, she’s delivering full-time drama. She launched a political campaign, ticked off more than a few of her castmates, and discovered a long-lost brother, all while navigating a painful estrangement from her son, Damon Kimes Jr. It’s a lot, but Heavenly can handle it.

Now, she’s sharing an encouraging update about the relationship with their son. They’re finally back on speaking terms.

The relationship between Heavenly and Damon Jr. soured after she learned of his 2023 arrest. Dr. Damon Kimes kept the arrest a secret for years. When Heavenly found out about it via social media, she completely lost her cool with her son, and he subsequently went no-contact.

At the time of filming Season 12, Heavenly admitted she hadn’t seen him or spoken to him for months. It was a devastating blow to Heavenly’s heart, but she revealed some major progress during an interview with Us Weekly.

“I’ve seen him on FaceTime,” Heavenly shared. “We’re talking every day now, so we’re building, and I’m happy for that.”

Of course, Heavenly admitted that having her family drama play out on the show wasn’t originally something she wanted to happen. Still, she’s happy that it did because she thinks other families can learn from their experiences.

“Had it not happened publicly, you wouldn’t have seen it on camera, to be very honest with you,” Heavenly admitted. “However, I look at it as a testimony. It was something that happened, and you can look at yourself, and I blame myself for different things, but I’m not in control of anybody but myself.”

Heavenly still hasn’t seen Damon Jr. in person in almost a year, but she’s grateful for the progress they’ve made. She remains hopeful that their daily conversations will evolve from FaceTime to in-person soon.

She said, “Whatever he needs, I got to give him the time.”

Married to Medicine airs on Sundays at 9/8c on Bravo, and you can stream it the following day on Peacock.
