At the Trump Accounts Summit held at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C., on January 28, 2026, rapper Nicki Minaj appeared onstage with President Donald Trump. The two were photographed and filmed holding hands, a moment that went viral online. Minaj told the audience, “I am probably the president’s No. 1 fan. That’s not going to change.” She joined the event to support Trump’s investment account initiative for babies and pledged up to $300,000 to the program.

Trump introduced Minaj and praised her appearance, saying, “I said I am going to let my nails grow because I love those nails.” Video footage showed Minaj smiling as she clasped hands with Trump. She addressed the crowd, saying, “The hate — or what people have to say — it does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more.” She also criticized California Governor Gavin Newsom, stating, “[Newsom] doesn’t want to make a change… he does not want to do anything credible with his time or life” (via Fox News).

Minaj contrasted Trump with other politicians, saying, “They’re just a politician who may want to be a celebrity… [Trump] is a businessman and an authentic human being.” She further stated, “We’re not going let them get away with bullying him and the smear campaigns… God is protecting him.”

Entrepreneur and “Shark Tank” personality Kevin O’Leary also appeared onstage, thanking Trump “on behalf of all the entrepreneurs in America” and praising the Trump accounts initiative. According to Trump, the program provides $1,000 to every child born between 2025 and 2028, invested by private firms until the child turns 18.

Following the summit, Trump and Minaj posted a joint TikTok video in which Minaj called Trump “the best president of all time,” and Trump referred to Minaj as the “queen of Rap.”
