Paris Hilton Claps Back at Awful ‘Famous for Nothing’ Headlines

Paris Hilton has heard the jokes when tabloids were brutal to her back in the day. She is now answering them in her own words, telling everyone that she knows exactly who she is. In a new interview, she said the headlines don’t have the final word for her anymore.

Paris Hilton responds to people writing ‘awful’ headlines about her: ‘Look at me now, honey’

During an interview with US Weekly, Paris Hilton looked back on the era that helped turn her into a famous household name, while simultaneously reducing her to a headline. Her new documentary, Infinite Icon: A Visual Memoir, revisits some of the harshest labels that followed her in the 2000s, including “Famous for Nothing” and “No Brains, All Fame,” with Hilton telling the outlet that seeing those lines again still stings.

She said, “It was really hurtful,” adding that she was “just a young girl living my life,” while “the whole world” watched, judged, and picked her apart. When asked what she would say to the people who wrote those headlines, Hilton didn’t hesitate, saying, “Look at me now, honey.”

The documentary revisits major moments that shaped the socialite’s public image and private life, including the leak of her sex tape with an ex. Hilton called it a deep betrayal. She told Us Weekly that trusting someone who then violated her “was just the most horrible thing,” and that it will “haunt” her for the rest of her life.

Still, Hilton says the years of people underestimating her lit a fire in her. She said, “I’ve always loved proving people wrong,” adding, “I’ve been underestimated and misunderstood” — and today, she is a businesswoman, a mom of two, and a vocal advocate pushing for reform tied to the “troubled teen” industry after speaking about her own experiences in past projects.

Paris Hilton’s documentary hits theaters on January 30.
