Ariana Grande has spoken out against US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) following weeks of headlines and protests. It comes after the deaths of Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti, who were both killed by ICE agents in Minneapolis earlier this month.
Ariana Grande urged fans to call their senators about ICE
Taking to her Instagram Story, Ariana shared a series of posts from other social media users. In one Story, the Wicked star shared a screenshot of an X post by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani. “ICE terrorizes our cities. ICE puts us all in danger. Abolish ICE,” the @NYCMayor post said.
Other posts shared by singer and actor Ariana gave information on what to do if you see ICE, as well as how to contact your Senator to speak about ICE.
In the comments section of a Pink News TikTok montage of the posts, fans praised Ariana for speaking out against ICE. “She’s such a queen,” one person said. “That’s great!!! Come on celebrities use your platform!!!” wrote another.
A third added: ” She just gained some respect in my eyes for this.”
Ariana is not the only celebrity to criticize ICE of late. Famous faces including Billie Eilish, Pedro Pascal, Jenna Ortega, Glenn Close, and Whoopi Goldberg, have all been vocal in their views on ICE. On the flip side, Nicki Minaj recently referred to herself as Donald Trump’s “number one fan.”
The rapper joined the President on stage at an event in Washington DC on January 28. “I will say that I am probably the president’s number one fan, and that’s not going to change,” she said, per the BBC, as she held his hand. “The hate or what people have to say, it does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more.”
