Ex-NFL star Tyrann Mathieu reportedly confessed to using other people’s urine and even fake prosthetic devices to influence his test results. However, his most dangerous attempt involved a desperate internet search. After finding a “hack” on Google, he decided to mix a capful of bleach into a bottle of Coca-Cola.
He believed this toxic mixture would save his football career. Unfortunately, the decision almost cost him his life. “It felt like my whole insides was just like erupting,” Mathieu recalled. He eventually threw up the mixture and realized he had “run out of tricks.” Furthermore, these incidents during his time with the LSU Tigers led to severe professional consequences. In 2011, the school suspended him for one game. By 2012, LSU dismissed him entirely after he failed multiple drug tests.
Following his dismissal, he entered a rehabilitation program in Houston, Texas. Despite an arrest for marijuana possession shortly after, he successfully turned his life around. Eventually, the Arizona Cardinals drafted him in 2013, launching a highly decorated professional career.
Ultimately, Mathieu became a Super Bowl champion with the Kansas City Chiefs and a three-time All-Pro selection. He also played for the Houston Texans and the New Orleans Saints. Last year, in 2024, he officially retired from the league. He expressed deep gratitude for his journey, stating that the game shaped him in every way.
