And if a source is to be believed, the couple has indeed talked about getting hitched, but the star is “happy” with the way things are.

Halle Berry and Van Hunt have been together for quite some time now, and many are eager to see them take their relationship a step further. But a source has told PEOPLE that the actress is “grateful” to be in a relationship with the musician as he “really gets her and treats her so well.” The star is “doing great. She’s very happy with life right now,” the source said.
And although the couple has “talked about marriage,” the actress is in no rush to change their relationship status anytime soon, as “Halle is happy as it is. She just wants things to stay the way they are.”
The couple has been dating for more than five years. Berry and Hunt first met during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. They were set up by Hunt’s brother. The two connected over text and phone for four months before going on their first in-person date.
In June 2025, Hunt revealed on the TODAY.com show that he had already proposed to Berry, but the proposal was put on indefinite hold. “So I put out the proposal, and it’s still on hold as you can see,” the 55-year-old musician said. “It’s just out there floating.”
To this, the actress replied that she has “been married three times. Van has been married once, and so no, we don’t feel like we have to get married to validate our love in any way. We don’t.”
