After former Prince Andrew was surrounded by controversy, all eyes were on his and ex Sarah Ferguson’s daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie. While the girls have stood as a strong pillar for each other through this time, they will “support” their father, who has stripped off his royal titles and has been ordered to evict the Royal Lodge.
However, per an expert, the daughters will show their sympathy from a distance as their father’s reputation can prove “damaging & toxic’ for them.
Ex-Prince Andrew’s daughters will ‘always support him’ but from a distance, says expert
After Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was surrounded by controversy, he and his former wife, Sarah Ferguson, were asked to leave the Royal Lodge, which has been their home for decades, by the monarch.
But throughout this time, it was their daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, who were the center of discussion as to whether the children would support their father or not.
As per Mirror, royal expert Katie Nicholl believes that despite being in such a difficult position, “they’ll always support their parents.” However, she thinks “they’re creating some distance from Andrew.”
“Even though he’s their father, the reality is that his reputation has become damaging and toxic.” Nicholl further added that since the princesses “are young women with their own successful careers,” they “just want to get on with that.”
Highlighting how the daughters are taking different positions on supporting their father, it was reported that the girls opted to spend last year’s Christmas at Sandringham with the royal family rather than their parents.
Sharing more about their bonding, a former BBC royal correspondent, Jennie Bond, had earlier told the outlet that “It would seem that the two daughters are taking different positions on supporting their father,” adding that the daughters “must feel very conflicted in their loyalties.”
