Savannah Guthrie’s Mom Nancy ‘Alive,’ Believes Sheriff

In a new interview with Arizona authorities, Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy Guthrie, is believed to be alive.

Nancy was abducted from her Tucson, Arizona home over the weekend, and Wednesday marks 72 hours since her disappearance. She was last seen by her daughter on Saturday, January 31, around 9:30 pm. Authorities were alerted after Nancy’s friend from church told her family she did not appear for Sunday service.

In more recent developments, it was reported that drops of blood were visible on the front steps of Nancy’s home, along with the remnants of an apparent Ring camera that had been removed.

Speaking in an interview with NBC’s Today Show on Wednesday, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told host Liz Kreutz that they believe Nancy is still alive.

“We have nothing else to go on but the belief that she is here,” Sheriff Chris Nanos said in the interview. “She’s present. She’s alive, and we want to save her.”

Additionally, authorities confirmed yesterday that they had “no clue” regarding the number of potential kidnappers involved. “It could have been one. It could have been more.”

Moreover, TMZ reportedly received an alleged ransom note from Nancy’s captors on Tuesday. The note, according to the outlet, demanded millions in bitcoin for the mother-of-three’s return. TMZ also stated that they had checked the Bitcoin delivery address and found out it was legitimate.

While the tabloid didn’t reveal the specific amount, they did state that they had passed the ransom on to the authorities. Additionally, they shared there was a stated deadline, with an added threat of “or else.” Pima County authorities have also expressed concern for Nancy’s health, given her age and existing mobility issues. They also stated that Nancy was seemingly abducted without her prescribed medicine with her.
