The search for a missing DJ appears to have come to a tragic end. Police in Georgia were on the hunt for DJ Young Slade. The Milton Police Department announced on Friday that divers recovered a body in Mayfield Park. That is not far from the man born as Nathan’s home address.
The discovery came just before 12 pm local time on Friday. Investigators believe the victim pulled from the pond may be Lil Jon’s son. The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office has yet to make an official confirmation on the matter.
Lil Jon’s son went missing earlier this week
If it was, in fact, DJ Young’s body that was recovered, it’s a sad end to a promising career. He was inspired by his dad to pursue a career as a DJ. Lil Jon had previously said his son’s dream is one of the greatest joys he’s experienced.
On Facebook, the police issued a statement on the matter. “Based on the investigation to date, there is no indication of foul play,” it reads. They say they believe the body recovered was that of Nathan’s. In addition, the statement says that the Milton Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division will continue to treat this as an open and active investigation. They also extended their deepest condolences to the Smith family.
Nathan had been reported missing this week. He was last seen at his home on Baldwin Drive on Tuesday. Cops have called the circumstances around his disappearance unusual. A local Atlanta news outlet reported that he may have been naked at the time he went missing and disoriented.
His father previously described him as well-mannered and well-behaved during an interview in 2014. Lil Jon also has a one-year-old daughter, Nahara, with his girlfriend, Jamila Sozahdah. Nathan’s mother is Lil Jon’s ex-wife, Nicole Smith.
