Kylie Jenner, founder of Kylie Cosmetics and fashion label Khy, proved once again that her idea of ‘low-key’ still comes with six-figure sparkle. The 28-year-old was spotted grabbing dinner with sister Kendall Jenner at Sushi Park in West Hollywood on February 10.
Kylie Jenner’s upgraded $200k Birkin makes date night with Kendall far from low-key
For the outing, Jenner kept her outfit understated, wearing a khaki trench coat layered over a white tank top. She paired this with black leather trousers and a matching black leather cap. The neutral look blended seamlessly into the L.A. cool-girl uniform, until her handbag entered the frame.
Jenner carried a rare Hermès Birkin 35 Himalaya Niloticus Crocodile bag with palladium hardware. Marie Claire reports that the gray-and-white gradient design takes inspiration from the snow-capped Himalayan mountains. Making it one of the most coveted Hermès bags in existence. Crafted from matte Niloticus crocodile leather, the style frequently commands resale prices in the hundreds of thousands. A similar Hermès Birkin 35 piece is listed at $225,000 on Madison Avenue Couture.
Jenner didn’t stop at the already diamond-studded hardware. As detailed by InStyle, she enhanced the bag with custom diamond charms from Ashna Mehta’s brand Bag Bijoux. The jeweler created a custom 5-carat pavé lip charm inspired by the Kylie Cosmetics logo. Along with this, she also made diamond-encrusted “K” and “J” initial bag charms valued at $9,980 combined. Jenner noted on Instagram that the sparkling additions were Valentine’s Day gifts to herself.
Diamond-adorned Himalayan Birkins have also been carried by Kim Kardashian, Victoria Beckham, and Jennifer Lopez. Beckham was among the first to style the ultra-rare bag casually during the 2009 street style era. Now, Jenner appears to take a similar approach, pairing the high-value Birkin with a casual dinner look.
What may have started as a quiet sushi date quickly turned into a headline-making fashion moment, thanks to a Birkin that refuses to go unnoticed.
