Meghan Markle and Prince Harry enjoyed a date night over the weekend. On February 15, the lovebirds attended the 75th NBA All-Star Game (in matching outfits, no less!) but, as usual, social media was awash with negative comments about their outing.

Posting a clip from the NBA’s TikTok, which showed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at the game, a social media user criticized the couple. “For two people who whine constantly about how the media has made their lives miserable, look how they light up with happiness when they see the camera,” said @hrrysgreysuit on X.
“She lights up, she loves the camera and fame,” added @SamEstormy.
“He left the Royal Family because he felt like he was living in a zoo. Now he waves on command,” said @djpag1111. “He loves every minute of it,” agreed @ZeldaZonk50.
Honestly, the pair can seemingly do no right. Is it not normal to react when a camera is pointed in your face? Should they have ignored it instead? That would have no doubt provoked an equally negative response.
And, since when did wanting privacy for your family mean never leaving the house? Given the events that led up to his mother’s tragic passing, you’d think royal fans would understand Harry’s perspective on the matter.
Thankfully, not everyone online was on the Meghan and Harry hate train. “We love you,” someone commented on the NBA’s TikTok clip. “Love it. Haters gonna go mad,” added someone else. “Despite all the hatred, they keep on winning,” agreed a third.
Meanwhile, someone else said exactly what we’re thinking: “Can she be excited once without scrutiny?”
