Speaking during a recent appearance on the “Gypsy Tales” podcast, Liam Lawson addressed the widespread speculation linking seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton with reality TV star and entrepreneur Kim Kardashian.
The New Zealand driver acknowledged upfront that he does not know whether the rumors are true. Nonetheless, he suggested that the attention surrounding the pair could bring positive exposure to Formula 1.
“It’s great for the sport to be fair,” Lawson said, pointing out how much Formula 1 has expanded its audience in recent years. He added that he struggles to see how the attention would be negative for the racing world.
At the same time, Lawson cautioned against assuming everything circulating online is factual. “If it’s legit, that’s great, I’m stoked for them,” he said, before adding that much of what appears in headlines often turns out to be inaccurate.
The rumors appear to have gained traction after Hamilton and Kardashian were photographed together at several events, including the 2026 Super Bowl. Reports have also claimed that the pair have spent time together in locations such as the Cotswolds and Paris, though neither party has publicly addressed the speculation. Hamilton, when asked during pre-season testing in Bahrain, declined to comment, emphasizing that his personal life remains private.
Lawson even compared the situation to past media frenzies, referencing previous rumors that linked pop star Taylor Swift to F1 driver Fernando Alonso. The New Zealander implied that these stories took on a life of their own despite limited evidence.
Still, Lawson admitted that the current wave of speculation feels more persistent than usual. “This seems pretty real now,” he said, while acknowledging it remains unconfirmed.
