Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Brandi Glanville recently underwent life-saving surgery to remove her breast implants. They had been affecting her health, causing blurred vision, stiff muscles, fatigue and premature aging.
The silicone implants, which she got after the birth of her son Jake in 2007, are no longer even on the market. “They’re illegal,” the mom of two explained.

Brandi’s health problems started three years ago, shortly after filming The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip in Morocco. At first, Brandi believed she contracted a parasite from food left sitting out for hours during filming.
Since then, Brandi has visited multiple doctors and had a stay in the hospital to treat her swollen and disfigured face. She’s even given the parasite a name.
“So you do labs every time, and it’s, like, $1,000 just to get to see a new doctor,” she told RadarOnline. “You kind of feel like you’re getting passed around, but not getting any answers.”
Meanwhile, her symptoms were worsening, as medical bills drained her bank account. She was constantly tired and losing strength. “I would go to sit down, and it would take me, like, seven minutes to stand up,” she remembered.
“I lost my house because I couldn’t afford it anymore, so I had to move,” the Drinking and Tweeting author shared. Overwhelmed, she even considered suicide at one point.
Finally, one day she noticed that one breast was smaller than the other and decided to get a sonogram. At the appointment, the technician told her, “Brandi, you need to get those [implants] out yesterday.”
“You have a slow leak in your left [implant] and your right is completely ruptured,” the tech continued. “Whatever’s going on in your face, it can’t drain because your lymph nodes are clogged [with silicone].”
