Bill Cosby’s upcoming trial would reportedly not require him to be physically present in court. His accuser, Donna Motsinger, recently told TMZ that the 88-year-old allegedly does not plan to appear to testify or attend the trial. For those unfamiliar, she is one of the accusers who filed a sexual assault lawsuit against the former comedian. Previously, the outlet reported that Motsinger claimed Cosby took advantage of her in 1972.
Bill Cosby’s accuser claims he allegedly ‘does not care to appear’ in court for trial
Bill Cosby’s accuser recently provided an update on the lawsuit she filed against him. According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Donna Motsinger claimed that the actor allegedly would not appear in court. She stated that he would not testify “because he does not care to appear” in court.
Furthermore, Cosby reportedly would not be present at the trial. According to the outlet, the jury would instead hear from him through a “previously taped deposition.”
Earlier reports stated that Cosby admitted during a deposition to obtaining seven prescriptions for a pill known as Quaaludes. He allegedly acquired the drugs from a gynecologist with the intent of becoming intimate with women. The deposition is reportedly part of Motsinger’s lawsuit.
According to her lawsuit, previously obtained by the outlet, Motsinger alleged that Cosby sexually assaulted her in 1972. At the time, she was reportedly working as a server at a restaurant in California. In the legal filing, she claimed that the actor approached her and invited her to attend his show.
Motsinger further alleged that she became ill and that Cosby offered her a pill, which she believed to be aspirin. According to the document, she reportedly blacked out and woke up at her home the following day wearing only her underwear. She stated that she then realized what had occurred.
