‘Desperate’ Sarah Ferguson Likely Living off Rich Friends, Says Expert

Sarah Ferguson has largely disappeared from public view in the six months since fresh disclosures tied her more closely to the Jeffrey Epstein case. The former Duchess of York, 66, has not made any notable public appearances during that period. Around the same time, she and her ex-husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, lost their titles and their right to remain at Royal Lodge. This was following newly released documents from the Epstein files that detailed their association with the convicted sex offender.

Sarah Ferguson ‘desperate’ to be liked, now living off wealthy friends, says expert

Sarah Ferguson was reportedly seen last month at a wellness retreat in Donegal, Ireland. There has also been speculation that she traveled to the United Arab Emirates and visited one of Switzerland’s most exclusive health resorts. None of those sightings has been formally confirmed, and her exact whereabouts are unknown.

Royal expert Ingrid Seward suggests Ferguson may have chosen to leave the U.K. altogether, possibly staying with affluent friends abroad. “Nobody knows where she is at this moment, I mean, she could be anywhere, she could be in Dummer with her stepmother, or she could be abroad,” Seward said. “She’s got some rich and powerful friends who probably will stick by her, because we know rich and powerful people like drama, and this is a great drama, isn’t it?”

Documents made public from the Epstein files included emails exchanged between Ferguson and Epstein. Seward, who has known Ferguson since before her 1986 marriage to Andrew, describes her as both charismatic and flawed. “She has a massively endearing type of personality,” Seward said. “It’s a tragedy that her bad side has got the stronger hold over her than her good side… She desperately, desperately wants to be liked.”

Seward also believes that Ferguson still hopes for a return to normalcy.
