Kylie Jenner Snubbed by Boyfriend at Actor Awards ‘Intentionally’ — Source

Kylie Jenner just got pulled into a new Actor Awards controversy by an insider claim that Timothée Chalamet kept the awards night family-first. The insider also explained why Kylie Jenner skipped the Actor Awards, and how optics can matter in Hollywood.

The 2026 Actor Awards took place on March 1 in Los Angeles. Timothée Chalamet brought his mother, Nicole Flender, as his date and did not attend with his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner.

Rob Shuter wrote that the red carpet moment was designed to land clean. He said the actor smiled, posed, and kept it “family-first.” He also wrote that Chalamet skipped the “splashy couple moment”, very different from what happened at the Golden Globes. Then an awards strategist told him, “Bringing his mom sends a message.” The strategist added, “It softens him.” They said it reminds voters he is “a serious actor.”

Meanwhile, another insider framed the decision as damage control. They said, “This was about credibility.” They added, “About craft.” Then they said it was “about getting the focus back on the work.” The Substack post also referenced back-to-back award losses. It said there was quiet chatter that his relationship could overshadow his narrative. As a result, the report claimed the optics suddenly mattered more than ever.

However, a studio source told Shuter the race is tight. They said, “He knows the race is tight.” Then they added, “Every image counts.”

The Substack post framed it as a reset move. The strategist said, “Walking in with his mom says, ‘I’m grounded. I’m grateful. I’m here for the art.’” Then they added, “It’s a reset without saying a word.” Shuter also wrote, “Was it strategic? ‘Absolutely.’” He added, “Was it sweet? ‘Also absolutely.’” In turn, the Kylie Cosmetics founder and the “Marty Supreme” star stay in the spotlight, even though the model skipped the Actor Awards.
