An expert is speculating that Nancy Guthrie’s kidnapper may be stalking her memorial. Since her disappearance on February 1, tributes outside her Tucson home have been growing.
Those who live in the vicinity are showing their love and support by leaving flowers, notes, art and other tributes. Her daughter, Today Show co-host Savannah Guthrie, along with her two siblings, made a pilgrimage and contributed yellow flowers to the memorial on March 2.
Nancy Guthrie has been missing for over a month now
RadarOnline reported the suspect may be keeping tabs on the growing memorial at Nancy’s house. This was theorized by Betsy Brantner Smith, a retired police sergeant and National Police Association spokesperson.
“They could [have eyes on the memorial], we’re just not seeing it,” she told Fox News Digital. “They could be keeping track of it, but we’re not seeing the cameras.”
During their visit to the site, Savannah locked arms with her sister Annie and brother-in-law Tommaso Cioni. This was the first time the anchor was seen in public, aside from videos pleading for her mother’s return. The tearful family members hugged as they viewed the touching scene.
Savannah then went back home to New York City, visiting with her Today Show colleagues on March 5. A fan’s video showed her hugging her co-workers outside Rockefeller Center’s Studio 1A.
The visit also helped put to rest the speculation that Savannah was leaving her co-host gig. She has been in her current job at the Today Show since 2012.
According to a show spokesperson, “Savannah Guthrie stopped by the studio this morning to be with and thank her Today colleagues. While she plans to return to the show on air, she remains focused right now supporting her family and working to help bring Nancy home.”
On Today with Jenna & Sheinelle, Jenna Bush Hager confirmed Savannah’s plan to return to work. “She said that she has the intention to return to the show. Even though it feels like the hardest thing to do, it’s also her home and where she feels so loved,” she said.
