Two Royals Should Skip Family Gathering for King Charles’ Sake — Expert

Ex-Prince Andrew’s daughters are back in the Royal Family Easter discussion before the first major family gathering of 2026. “The best way to support their uncle and cousins is to keep their distance for the foreseeable future.” That was royal expert Jennie Bond’s blunt view as attention turned to whether Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie will join King Charles at St George’s Chapel in Windsor. The question matters because Easter remains one of the Firm’s biggest public walk-ins of the year.

Ex-Prince Andrew’s daughters must skip Royal gathering for King Charles’ sake, says expert

As per the Mirror report dated March 8, 2026, the royal family is expected to gather at Windsor Castle in several weeks for the annual Easter Sunday service. The outlet said all eyes will be on the York sisters after they joined the royals at Sandringham on Christmas Day less than three months ago. However, Bond told the Mirror, “It might be helpful if they told the King that they are otherwise engaged for Easter and Royal Ascot week.” She noted it will relieve the Royal Patriarch from the invitation conundrum.

Meanwhile, the former BBC royal correspondent said distance would help both optics and palace planning. She said, “I’m sure the women care about the damage that has been done to the royal family.” Then she added, either way, “they would draw unwelcome press attention to themselves.” For that reason, she said, “It might be better for all involved if they keep a low profile for now.” In turn, the focus stays on King Charles and the wider Easter service, not side drama.

For context, the Mirror said Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have kept relatively low profiles and have not spoken publicly. It also noted that when the former prince lost his royal titles last October, his daughters were not affected and kept their princess titles. Still, questions remain around their public place in future family events. The report said Beatrice is ninth in line to the throne, while Eugenie is 12th. It also noted that any move involving succession would be constitutionally complex. Even so, Bond’s advice was simpler. Stay away, keep the attention down, and spare King Charles another awkward public call.
