Expert Predicts Taylor Frankie Paul Could Be Forced To Return Bachelorette Paychecks

Taylor Frankie Paul has lost a lot in recent days. She is staring down a second round of domestic abuse charges, and her main series, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, is now on a pause. Meanwhile, ABC yanked her season of The Bachelorette off the airwaves. And now, the network might actually be gunning for her wallet in the form of returned paychecks.

After filming as the lead on Season 22, Taylor returned home to Utah. Later, she and her ex, Dakota Mortensen, engaged in yet another heated fight. As a result, both parties are now under investigation in Drapper City, Utah.

Once the public learned about this investigation and the horrific claims within, Taylor lost multiple brand deals. She also lost her entire season of The Bachelorette. And now, according to a lawyer named Ashlee Difuntorum, who recently spoke to Page Six, Taylor could even be facing legal repercussions. After all, ABC reportedly lost $40 to $50 million on her season.

As Ashlee explained, “When working with a public person for any project, companies almost always include a morality clause in the contract.” These clauses are typically “very broad.” However, “I would think Taylor Frankie Paul’s contracts tied to ‘The Bachelorette’ would include this type of clause, and also that the clause covers this situation,” she stressed. And, if so, there is likely a listed recourse in her contract for if and when this clause might come into play.

If Taylor breached a morality clause, ABC would not owe her any paychecks. “If she’s already been paid, it might require her to return that payment,” Ashlee revealed. However, it is most likely that ABC will go after the production company instead, for not properly vetting Frankie. But, “If the production company flagged the issue to ABC already and ABC chose to move forward with the season anyway, ABC would likely have a hard time getting any amount from the production company.”

The Bachelorette and The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives are now streaming on Hulu and Disney+.
