New body cam footage has been released in connection with Justin Timberlake’s June 2024 DWI arrest — and it’s just as cringeworthy as the others.
The pop prince previously sued the Village of Sag Harbor to prevent the release of footage, but a settlement resulted in its release on Friday. Justin was arrested nearly two years ago on a driving while intoxicated charge, after police spotted him running a red light and driving on the wrong side of the road. In new footage following the arrest, the star made an uncomfortable joke about being described as white.

In the video, Justin glances at paperwork regarding his personal information at the police station. When he looked at his stated race, he turned to the officer and joked, “white?”
After a moment of awkward silence, the police officer laughed. Justin then joined in. “I’m just kidding! I’m just kidding, man,” he said.
In other newly-released footage, the “Mirrors” singer can be seen struggling to do the heel-to-toe straight line test to prove his sobriety. “These are, like, hard tests,” Justin can be heard saying. “My heart’s racing.”
Additionally, this isn’t the first time Justin’s been accused of embarrassing behavior regarding race. In Britney Spears’ 2023 memoir, The Woman in Me, she said her ex was too comfortable using African-American Vernacular English (AAVE).
“His band NSYNC was what people back then called ‘so pimp.’” Britney wrote. “They were white boys, but they loved hip-hop. To me, that’s what separated them from the Backstreet Boys, who seemed very consciously to position themselves as a white group. NSYNC hung out with Black artists. Sometimes I thought they tried too hard to fit in.”
“[Justin] got all excited and said, so loud, ‘Oh yeah, fo shiz, fo shiz! Ginuwiiiiiine! What’s up, homie?” Britney recalled in one story.
