Trigger Warning: This story contains allegations of sexual assault and abuse involving a minor.
Two days after her husband was arrested, Kendra Duggar ended up being booked into custody at an Arkansas detention facility. Kendra ended up behind bars on charges that could potentially carry a prison sentence of 8 years.
Kendra Duggar was arrested on March 20

It’s not looking good for Joseph Duggar of 19 Kids and Counting and his wife, Kendra. Both of them are now looking at potential prison time for two separate crimes.
Joseph was accused of sexually assaulting a 9-year-old girl in Florida during a family vacation. He was charged with lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim less than 12 years old and lewd and lascivious behavior conducted by a person 18 years or older. Joseph is currently being held at the Washington County Detention Facility awaiting extradition.
Because of Joseph’s arrest, a warrant was issued to search his home. During the home inspection, door locks were found on the exterior of the doors, a source told PEOPLE. After that, Kendra was arrested. She and Joseph were charged with four counts each of false imprisonment and endangering the welfare of a child.
The couple has yet to comment on the charges. But Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle Duggar made no secret of their use of locked doors for the children’s bedrooms. They previously decided that the best way to protect their children after Josh molested four of his sisters was to lock the children in their rooms each night.
A family spokesperson said that Kendra’s charges are totally unrelated to her husband’s felony charges and his case in Florida. She is not suspected or accused of participating in his crimes.
If convicted of all eight counts, both Joseph and Kendra could face a prison sentence of up to 8 years and hefty fines.
